Multi-Buffering
Multi-Buffering allows for smooth animation and video playback by renering images on several invisible sheets or pages before they appear on the screen. The video card then transfers the image to the visible sheet or page that is shown on the monitor when it is ready to be displayed. Because the card is not having to render all of the images at the same time that they are displayed, this has the effect of making video and animations much smoother and more visually appealing.
MPEG2 Decode Acceleration
This feature allows the graphics chip to assist a software MPEG2 decoder program (such as nDVD) by handling various aspects of the video playback such as scaling and color space conversion. This is very important because it allows the CPU overhead for DVD and MPEG2 playback to be significantly reduced and provides for superior image quality and stability during playback.
